Overview
The Day of Blue Tears, also known as The Sorrow of the Sacred Tree or The Day of Mideel, was the most devastating day in all of Ainomori’s history.
On that day, the Sacred Tree Titan underwent a mutation. The land’s life force was violently absorbed, and the energy released poured forth like a meteor shower. In a single night, the entire forest lost its former radiance.
What Happened
No one knows exactly what happened that day.
Most forest dwellers only remember this — the sky suddenly lit up. Not the gentle brightness of dawn, but a more violent, more unsettling light. Titan’s branches began to shake violently, and the Love Crystals embedded deep within the earth shattered one after another, releasing emotional energy accumulated over millions of years.
That energy did not dissipate. Instead, it was violently drawn back by Titan’s root system. The land felt as if its breath had been stolen — flowers withered, streams dried up, and the indigo light in the air grew thin and trembling.
Then came the meteor shower.
But those were not real meteors. They were lives. Beings who depended on Love Crystals to sustain their existence, dissolving into the night sky like stardust once their energy source was lost. From afar, it looked like countless blue tears falling from the sky.
This is how the “Day of Blue Tears” got its name.
Impact on Rana
Toba Rana was one of the guardians who survived that catastrophe. But she paid a heavy price — she lost her six wings, most of her magical power, and countless members of her people.
The owls — those round, loyal followers — took on their current form after that day. They gathered near the ruins of the Owl Temple, keeping it tidy, keeping each other company, waiting for the day a miracle would come.
They believed Rana would return. So they kept waiting.
Aftermath
After the Day of Blue Tears, Ainomori fell into a long silence. Titan no longer made a sound, the forest’s indigo light dimmed, and once-thriving regions gradually became desolate.
It was not until Forest Year 5050 (2020 CE) that Rana crossed through a portal to the human world and began her activities as a VTuber. With her gentle voice as late-night companionship, she gathered emotional energy drop by drop — every subscription was a leaf growing back, every stream was a call to Titan.
Five years later, in March of Forest Year 5571 (2026 CE), Titan finally awakened.
The long-dormant Love Crystals lit up once more. The story is not over yet.
Unsolved Mysteries
Many questions about the Day of Blue Tears remain unanswered to this day:
- Why did Titan undergo the mutation? Was it external interference, or a natural cycle?
- Did the beings who dissolved truly vanish, or do they exist somewhere in another form?
- The Day of Mideel — where does this ancient name come from? Why do some elders use it?
Perhaps only Titan herself knows the answers. And she has only just begun to speak.
