Overview
Toba Rana (Japanese: 鳥羽 樂奈 / とば らな) is the founding member and owl guardian goddess of Ainomori. In Forest Year 5050 (2020 CE), she flew from Ainomori to Earth and began her journey as a VTuber.
Rana was once a six-winged deity of tremendous power. After an ancient war, she lost most of her magical strength. Yet this never changed her love for the Owlets — that devotion to protect and accompany them has always remained, unwavering.
Background
In a place far, far away — so far that even the indigo light barely reaches its edges — there stands a temple. It was not built. It was waited into existence. That land spent a very long time doing only one thing: waiting. Waiting for a particular being to arrive, spread her wings, and say — “I will protect them for you.”
That is the Owl Temple. Deep beneath its floors, there is a root — slender, silent, yet never broken. It runs from the heart of the forest, from the Sacred Tree Titan itself, all the way here, threading through the entire land. That root carries a heartbeat. It carries a feeling of: no matter how far you are, I know you are there.
Rana was born here. She did not descend from the sky — she grew from the core of Titan. All the stardust, all the feeling, all the love that had been carried for too long — in one moment, it gathered into a winged shape. She is the most precious fruit the tree ever bore. She is joy itself.
As a six-winged deity, Rana was one of the forest’s most powerful guardians. Then came the Day of Blue Tears: Titan was forced to draw energy from the land, and the force it released swept the world like a meteor shower. Rana lost her wings and her kin that day. The Owlets became small and round, waiting near the ruins of the Owl Temple for the day a miracle would come.
In Forest Year 5050, Rana crossed through a portal to the human world and began her life as a VTuber. With her gentle voice she became a companion in the deep of night, gathering energy piece by piece — to restore Ainomori, and to awaken the sleeping Titan.
